Leonard Cheshire Disability

One in six people in the UK will have a disability in their lifetime and at Leonard Cheshire Disability we want to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to their full potential.

For over 65 years, we have supported disabled people in many different ways, to reflect what they tell us they want. This might be anything from teaching someone with a brain injury after a road accident to talk and walk again. It might be offering specialist support in one of our residential homes to somebody with a long-term condition like Multiple Sclerosis. Or teaching somebody with learning difficulties the life skills they need to manage everyday life on their own.

We also campaign alongside disabled people to bring about changes for the better, and to challenge ignorance and unfairness in society.

Remembering Grandpa Bill together

“My Grandpa, Bill, was a volunteer at one of Leonard Cheshire Disability’s homes for over 50 years, writing letters, playing scrabble, reading and helping residents in any way he could.
Our family wanted to do something to celebrate his life so we have a Shared Memories page.” Read more
